Muhammad A. Gigani

Company: Deloitte Tax LLP

Description:

Muhammad is a senior manager in the Deloitte Tax Practice.  He has over 10 years of experience in tax consulting and compliance. 

Muhammad focuses on private enterprise clients, including closely-held businesses and high-net worth families. His experience covers a wide range of industries and entity types.   Muhammad’s clients include family offices, investment partnerships, manufacturing companies, distribution companies, and technology companies.

Muhammad has experience working with companies with small or no tax departments and business owners who desire wealth succession planning.

Muhammad leads various diversity efforts inside and outside Deloitte. He was among the founders of the Chicago Chapter of the Deloitte Hispanic Network Business Resource Group (HNET) and now serves as HNET’s National Project Management Officer Leader.   

He was recognized as the 2011 Illinois CPA Society Emerging Leader in Advancing Diversity.   Muhammad has been quoted in Crain’s Chicago Business.

He also serves on the board of the National Latino Education Institute (NLEI).

Rick Cerda

Company: Crowe Horwath LLP

Description:

 

Rick operates as a senior manager with Crowe Horwath LLP. He has a background in assurance, tax services, profitability enhancement, risk management, large scale accounting office consolidations and internal control design. He has demonstrated success in the assurance and consulting practices of Crowe Horwath LLP for over 10 years.

He is the founder of Crowe’s Latino People Resource Network and currently serves as the National Lead for the network in which he oversees the recruitment, retention and leadership development of members of the network.

Rick is very active in the assurance and accounting profession. He has published articles, conducted training programs regarding various accounting topics and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Illinois CPA Society.

He holds a bachelor of science in Accountancy from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign.





Solskin Gomez-Krogh

Description:

Solskin Gomez-Krogh is a Diversity and Human resources professional with professional background in marketing.  

 

Starting as a student member in 2001, Solskin has been actively involved in the ALPFA since 2001. She is one of ALPFA's strongest supporter and has contributed to its growth and success through in various roles including President, Chair for the Second Leadership Summit, Marketing Lead for the First Leadership Summit, Director of Membership, 2004 ALPFA Conference (Chicago) Planning Committee member, Public Relations Committee member and most recently Marquee Events Chair.

Education:

Solskin has a bachelor's in Anthropology and International Studies with a focus in Latin America from Iowa State University and an MBA from DePaul University.





Diane Webster

Company: Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP

Description:

Diane Webster is a partner at the national law firm of Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP. She is a litigator who concentrates her practice in the defense of professionals and hospitals in malpractice claims. She also practices in the areas of products liability, pharmaceutical liability, premises liability and municipal law. Her clients have included a major league baseball organization, hospitals, and physicians. Diane has defended a number of complex cases involving the professional liability of architects, engineers and realtors.

She serves on her firm's Hiring Committee, Attorney Life Committee and is a member of Hinshaw's Hispanic Affinity Network. She is also active in the firm's mentoring programs, where she mentors both associate attorneys and summer associates. She is a member of the Illinois Association of Defense Trial Counsel, Hispanic Lawyers Association of Illinois and the Hispanic National Bar Association.

Diane Webster received her J.D., cum laude, from the New England School of Law and B.A. in Political Science from Arizona State University.





Adam Ortega

Company: Mesirow Financial

Description:

Adam is a senior vice president in the Consulting practice of Mesirow Financial. He has over 10 years of experience providing valuation services, including valuing business enterprises, equity positions, tangible assets, intangible assets, financial instruments, stock options and intellectual property. Prior to Mesirow Financial, he worked at CapitalSource Finance underwriting debt offerings supporting leveraged buyouts.

Education:

He holds a Bachelor's in Finance and Computer Applications from the University of Notre Dame and is a candidate for level 3 of the Chartered Financial Analyst program.

 





Dianne Lystlund

Company: Allstate Insurance Corporation

Description:

Dianne Lystlund is currently a manager in Reserves, Risk Management and Reinsurance, a department within the Finance Shared Services group at Allstate Insurance Company. She is responsible for determining and recording appropriate reserve levels based on analysis of loss development data, communication of results to management for a specific business unit; including the corresponding GAAP and Statutory reporting related to reserves.

Within Allstate, Dianne is an active member of the Professional Latino Allstate Network (PLAN), has coordinated the accounting internship program, received Allstate’s prestigious Chairman’s Quality Award, and is a graduate of the 2008 Talent Acceleration Program.

Education:

Dianne has Masters of Business Administration from Lake Forest Graduate School of Management and a Bachelor of Art in Business Administration, with a concentration in accounting from Loyola University of Chicago. She is a Certified Public Accountant, and a member of the AICPA and Illinois CPA Society.

Description:

Juan is a manager within the Risk Advisory practice at Ernst & Young LLP Chicago office. He performs operational audits for various manufacturing companies in covering an array of business units.

Education:

He holds a Master's in Accountancy from the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) and Bachelor's in Accountancy with distinction in Finance. He is also a Certified Fraud Examiner.





James Melucci

Company: True Value

Description:

James is a Product Merchant at True Value Hardware in Chicago where he is involved in merchandising category management for a variety of lines including lighting, alternative energy, audio/video and tools just to name a few. Formerly, James was an Inventory Manager, at Pactiv where he was responsible for sales and operations planning for a variety of Hefty brand consumer product lines and at Teradyne where he was a Supply Chain Analyst. 

In his free time, James enjoys spending time at Little Brothers, Friends of the Elderly and Inspiration Cafe, where he has prepared holiday meals for the elderly and prepared meals for those individuals and families with little to no income so they can eventually they can achieve self-sufficiency. When not giving back to his community, he also enjoys Crossfit and Olympic Weightlifting.

James holds a Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management from Arizona State University and a Masters in Business Administration from Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts.  





Robert Rodriguez

Company: ALPFA National

Description:

 

Dr. Rodriguez is senior vice president at the ALPFA Institute.  His oversees the Institute’s advisory services practices where he helps corporations with their Latino talent initiatives.  He is the author of the book, “Latino Talent: Effective Strategies to Recruit, Retain & Develop Hispanic Professionals.” His impact on corporate America has been so significant, he was named one of the Top 100 Most Influential Latinos in America by Hispanic Business Magazine.  Previously Dr. Rodriguez held faculty roles at both DePaul University & Kaplan University.  His corporate experience includes roles at 3M, Amoco and Target Corporation.

He holds a doctorate in Organization Development from Benedictine University.

 





Lisa Zambrano

Company: KPMG LLP

Description:

Lisa is a Director in Transaction Advisory Services at KPMG, LLP. She provides technical accounting advice under U.S GAAP and IFRS. She serves clients' executive management and accounting policy departments across industries with respect to complex transactions. Lisa also serves as the Midwest Chair of KPMG’s Hispanic Latino Network.

Education:

Lisa holds a Bachelor degree in Accountancy from Fairfield University. She is a Certified Public Accountant, licensed in New York State.





Chris Kleckner

Company: Allstate Insurance Corporation

Description:

Chris works for Allstate Insurance Corporation as a senior human resource consultant in the Talent Acquisition area where he supports Allstate’s Finance, Accounting and Investment areas. He has been in the Financial Recruiting sector for the past 15 years where he has recruited and placed financial professional into opportunities of varying levels. Before Allstate, Chris work for international recruitment firms Robert Half International and Michael Page International in various roles.

 

In addition to ALPFA, Chris is involved with National Society of Hispanic MBA’s (NSHMBA), Hispanic Alliance for Career Enhancement (HACE) and the Allstate “Helping Hands” organization.

Jaime Riesche

Company: Deloitte Services, LP

Description:

Jaime Riesche serves as Deloitte’s Lead Chicago Tax Campus Recruiter and owns the DePaul school relationship.  Jaime manages relationships with Northwestern, University of Chicago, Notre Dame Law, DePaul Law and University of Illinois Law on behalf of specialized Tax practices at Deloitte.   She joins the team with previous work experience at Ernst & Young LLP, The Claro Group and Deloitte Tax LLP.  While at Deloitte, Jaime worked in the Orange County and Chicago offices, spending her time in Lead Tax Services and more recently in Research & Development Tax Services.  

 

In her free time, Jaime enjoys traveling and yoga.

Description:

 

Marty Maugh is a Senior Vice President of Wealth Management at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney.  She is currently running a practice that focuses on providing comprehensive financial planning and investment management services to small to mid sized institutions, wealthy families and individuals.  With clients throughout the country, Marty uses the many resources offered through Morgan Stanley Smith Barney to bring high level financial solutions to her client base.    

Marty has over 25 years of experience in the financial industry.  Prior to joining Morgan Stanley Smith Barney, she worked at Bank of America/Banc of America Securities and UBS where her responsibilities included a specialized focus on providing capital to hedge funds and alternative investment companies.  In addition, her experiences have included advising wealthy families and institutions on risk management strategies for large concentrated stock positions as well as structuring credit facilities for small to middle market businesses.

Marty has been active in University of Michigan’s Letterwinners M Club where she served as President in 2009.  She is a member of Rotary International and the Rotary One Chapter of Chicago.  She serves on the investment committee for Rotary One.  She is a member of the Executive Board of Alpfa Chicago. In her spare time, Marty is on the coaching staff for varsity field hockey at the Latin School of Chicago.

 

Education:

Marty received her MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University and her Certified Financial Planning license from the College for Financial Planning in Denver.  She earned her undergraduate BBA degree from the University of Michigan.
